Roy Koshy Korothu

Roy Koshy Korothu, 68 passed away on January 17, 2022 at Wakemed, Cary, NC hospital. He is survived by his spouse, daughter, son and sister. His two brothers and parents had gone to be with the Lord earlier. He was passionate about airplanes, cars, travel and social get together. He was a licensed Private Pilot and Flight Engineer as well as a certified automobile engineer. He grew up in Malaysia and came to US as student at American Flight Academy, Dallas, Texas. Continued his career in aviation in US, got married in India but lived most of his life. with family in US. His passion for flying was cut short after surviving miraculously an engine crash for one of his solo flights but pursued in aviation field. He loved to travel around the world, learn different languages and cultures. His employment with airlines gave him the opportunity to fly when he could. He was seriously ill 3 years ago due to kidney failure. The Lord healed him and though he had to go through dialysis, by God’s grace, he could continue to live almost as normal as before. A year later, he was hospitalized again due to bacterial infection, affecting his mobility. Had to be on wheel chair and then needed the aid of walker. God once again extended his life and gave him strength to live a normal life His critical health conditions and the subsequent recovery gave him the desire to do what he could for the Lord. He got gospel tracts online and also from his friend. Jim and distributed locally. His aviation knowledge made him understand the power of the Almighty in a special way. While going on a leisurely evening stroll, he would look at the birds flying, so seamlessly and so perfectly with the creator God as their only guide, knowing how to navigate through all the weather patterns and seasonal changes, beyond what Science and Technology /human wisdom could ever do. God in his great mercy, again gave him an opportunity to get closer to God during his last hospital stay for 2 weeks. Though he hoped he could very well come back home, his condition worsened each day and finally the Lord’s time for him to be with our Savior, has come. Though he suffered in his final moments, the God who plans the best for all, in His great mercy, gave him the opportunity, to be alone with the Lord. The family and friends lifted him up in prayers and supplications for him. Praise God for His abundant mercy, though not physically recovered, his soul is in the perfect place. Thank you all our family and friends for your prayers and support. Above all, we thank our God of all comfort who comforts us and in His mercy, had us surrounded by a great team of family and friends, who offered great help and comfort in our time of need.
