Marta Noelia Cruz

Marta “Sissy” Noelia Cruz, 65, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday November 13, 2022, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Ms. Cruz was born on June 23, 1957, in Ft. Knox, Kentucky, the daughter of CSM Sigifredo Cruz-Vega and Martha Magdalena Galonska. She was the second of seven children, a loving, giving and caring daughter, sister, wife and friend. After graduating from High School in Nurnberg, Germany, she went on to study Fashion Design at the Paris Fashion Institute, Paris Campus, Cite’ Universitaire, Paris, France. Her command of five languages came naturally to her in her career in fashion and eventually administration for a couple of firms. Most recently Sissy was very proud of her service for both Fiesta Cristiana and Cary United Methodist Church serving as a translator for the church. Family was everything to Sissy, and she could always be found at the center of every event and celebration. She was proud of her heritage and ensured she maintained her connection to both her roots and her family. Sissy's love for her nieces, nephews and other children was evident in her showering of affection and gifts. The pure joy radiating from her as she looked at the children’s happiness and joy could blind you. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jose M.; father, Sigifredo Cruz-Vega and mother, Martha Magdalena Cruz-Galonska. Sissy is survived by her brothers, Sigifredo Jr. and wife Linda, Ricardo, Victor M. and wife Kristin, Manuel R., and sister Ruth E. and husband Ray. She also is survived by Ruth N. Cruz-Saez who raised Sissy and family from the time she was 11 years old, in addition to many surviving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial Services will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 3rd at the Apex United Methodist Church- Fiesta Christiana, located at 100 S. Hughes St., Apex NC, 27502. A short reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Apex United Methodist Church-Fiesta Cristiana or to the American Diabetes Association. A private family Funeral Service will be held at Wake Memorial Park, Cary, NC following the Memorial service.
