Annette "Annie" Bosse'

Annette Theresa Bosse’ age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Cary, NC on November 6, 2018 with members of her family present. She was preceded in death by her bother Donald, and is survived by her husband Dick, sister Joyce and brother Leland. She was born in Lake Charles, LA to Rene and Mildred Broussard on November 18, 1935. She graduated from all-girls Saint Charles Academy. Annie (the name she was lovingly known by to her many friends) and her husband recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Annie was mother to six children – Debra (Kent) Burkholder, Edmond, Randall (Karen) Bosse’, Helen Butterfield, Richard and Patricia. She had thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. During the first thirty years of her marriage, she dedicated most of her time and energy to raising their children. She and Dick crisscrossed North America many times over the years, often for business, but more often to visit family and friends. Many summers, they would load their six children into the family station wagon and set off on their travel adventures. However, even during those busy years, Annie found time to serve as chapter president of the local PTA, her garden and dance clubs, lead a Girl Scout troop, and act as co-chairperson on the Parish fundraising committee for a new Catholic church. Annie was fiercely proud of her Acadian ancestry. She spent hours researching her family’s Cajun genealogy. Her interest in her heritage was not limited to research, since Annie learned how to cook Cajun cuisine at an early age. She perfected her kitchen craft over many years and saw to it that all her children were taught her cooking techniques. Annie was famous for making outstanding gumbo. When folks tasted it, they tasted perfection. In her later years, Annie and Dick looked forward to joining family at the annual Mardi Gras event in Lake Charles. Annie and Dick attended many annual marketing conventions. On many occasions, Annie was requested to give the opening prayer, which was “Please God, make my husband successful, and I’ll keep him humble.” Beginning in the 1950’s she and Dick exercised their passion for dancing on many dancefloors across the country. They were truly outstanding dancers, particularly jazz and country during the “jitterbug” days. Annie always carried a reminder verse that read “Angel of Joy – the joy that you give to others is the joy that comes back to you.” Annie’s beauty was a hallmark of her presence. She will always be remembered for her charm, wit, grace, kindness, generosity, comforting hugs, and her warm and genuine smile. In their early 70’s, Annie and Dick embarked on new adventures as part-time ambassadors at their local Kroger store. Annie and Dick made wonderful friends during their years in the store. One of Annie’s favorite activities was appearing with Dick as Santa and Mrs. Claus every Christmas in their store. Annie’s funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on December 14, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church in Omaha, NE.
