Ralph Joseph Juris

"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." - Pericles Ralph Joseph Juris, age 81, passed away at his home in Morrisville on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. He was born on August 30, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Katherine (Schneider) and Paul Juris . Ralph began working for Edison Brothers Shoes in 1951 as a part time Sales and Stock Boy in Minneapolis, and retired from his position as Vice President for Edison Brothers Stores Incorporated with a golden handshake in 1986. He served as member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, from 1953 to 1957, and was an active member of the American Legion, Post 67, in Cary, N.C.. Ralph married the love of his life, Mary Ann Aws, on May 20, 1957, and was married for 50 years. Together, Mary Ann and Ralph raised 5 children in Long Island, New York. In their years of retirement, Ralph and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling together, as well as spending time with their family and friends. Ralph enjoyed playing golf, bingo, cribbage and cards, and could be found most Saturday mornings, “saleing” through neighborhood yard sales to add to Biggie’s Botique. Ralph had a kind spirit and a contagious smile. He was always willing to share a helping hand and a healing hug. Ralph is survived by his children; Robbin Juris-Dick (William Dick), Gregory Juris, Douglas Juris (Marie Juris), Linda Martucci (Fred Martucci) and Steven Juris (Laura Juris). Ralph was affectionately named “Biggie” by his grandchildren, who he loved unconditionally. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; Christian Dick, Tyler Dick, Stephanie Flemming (Bryan Flemming), Kimberly Ward (Michael Ward), Gregory Juris Jr., Bradley Juris, Danielle Juris, Gabrielle Juris, Paul Martucci, Ryan Martucci, Caitlin Juris and Kyle Juris, as well as his 4 great grandchildren; Andrew Fleming, Emily Fleming, Matthew Fleming and Dylan Ward. We, Ralph’s family, are grateful to have loved him for his kindness, generosity, humor and strength. Ralph lived his live to the fullest, and we are blessed to be a part of his legacy. On Ralph’s behalf, we sincerely thank all of his business and personal friends for the kindness they shared with him throughout his life. We will never forget the joy that he brought into our lives, and his love will be held in our hearts forever. Family, friends and others whose lives Ralph touched are invited to join in a graveside memorial service to be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Wake Memorial Park.
