Jane Birdsong Christy, 80, of Morrisville died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016. Mrs. Christy was born in Washington, DC on June 7, 1936 to Horace Birdsong and Della Fuller Birdsong. Mrs. Christy graduated from the University of Maryland. She loved the study of science, especially zoology, and eventually worked as a science teacher in Maryland. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and was a life-long Girl Scout. Mrs. Christy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, John Cameron Christy; daughters: Elizabeth Christy MacPherson (John) of Cary, Anne Victoria Christy (David Kelly) of Raleigh, Ellen Christy Wall (Jeff) of Cary; grandchildren: Christy MacPherson Maple, Stephen MacPherson, John Thaddeus Kelly, Cameron Wall, Matthew Wall, and Lauren Wall. There will be a funeral mass at 11:00 am Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd, Cary, NC 27513. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 at the church.
