Doris Prince Ferrell

Doris Prince Ferrell, 76, of Apex went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was a native of Wake County born on December 30, 1939 to Lonnie T. and Helen Smith Prince. Mrs. Ferrell was a proud homemaker. After nurturing her family, she then started a second career with Wake County Public Schools and retired after 31 years as a Cafeteria Manager. She was a devoted member of Green Level Baptist Church. Mrs. Ferrell spent many years serving her church by singing in the choir, preparing meals for all church occasions and AWANA events, and also serving as Director of WMU. She served as children's choir director and she loved working in her vegetable and flower garden. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William A. Ferrell; daughter: Sara F. Stanley (Chris) of Hendersonville, NC; sons: Phillip A. Ferrell (Frances S.) and John L. Ferrell (Candice E.) both of Apex, and William P. Ferrell (Amy G.) of Holly Springs; grandchildren: Sgt Todd Ferrell, USMC and Katie Ferrell, Nolan and Spencer Ferrell. Mrs. Ferrell is preceded in death by her brother: Van Prince and sister: Lillian Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Green Level Baptist Church, 8509 Green Level Baptist Church Rd, Cary. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Green Level Baptist with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Level Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Green Level Baptist Church Building Fund, 8509 Green Level Baptist Church, Cary, NC 27519.
