Colleen Elizabeth Voorhees Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Colleen was born in Staten Island NY on July 27th 1963 to Joan Lynch Crane and Allan Crane. Colleen grew up in New Jersey with her 3 sisters Linda, Kathleen and Joan Marie. Her first corporate job was at IBM where she met Jeff Voorhees whom she married in 1989. Colleen began her most treasured role, as mom to Harry, Cailyn and Amelia in the years that followed. After moving to North Carolina, Colleen focused on raising her children and eventually returned to the workforce as a childcare provider. Colleen loved all the little ones who were in her care over the years. Colleen was beloved for her selflessness and always giving a helping hand, she could always be found helping out behind the scenes, she never liked being in the spotlight. She had an ability to make everyone feel like they could talk to her, approachable by all, she could put you at ease in any situation. Family or school events Colleen was always known as a “worker”, never one to sit, she would be the one ensuring things were getting done. Colleen was at her most confident when talking about her children, there was never a woman who was more meant to be a mother than Colleen, she embodied unconditional love and had the most fun when Harry, Cailyn and Amelia were around her. She was so proud of every art project, baseball game and graduation! The only regret Colleen would have is not being able to share the future with her children. The “Crane girls” are heartbroken and Linda, Kathleen and Joani will never be the same without Colleen, the sisters sharing a heart and bond that is like no other. Please remember Colleen for the amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and blessing that she was, honor her by being kind to all.
