Venkata Ratnam Sanka

Venkata Ratnam Sanka, 78, of Morrisville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at her residence. She was born on May 8, 1947, in Kankatapalem, Andhra Pradesh, India, to the late Subba Rao and Veeranjaneyamma Alapati. In 1967, she married Hanumantha Rao Sanka, and together they built a loving life in Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh. They would have celebrated 58 years of marriage this June 14th. Venkata Ratnam was a devoted wife and mother who lovingly cared for her family. She was blessed with three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all of whom she adored deeply. She possessed a remarkable memory and never forgot a face or interaction. An avid lover of classic Telugu cinema, she could recite movie plots with amazing detail, often entertaining family and friends with her vivid storytelling. Cooking was her passion, and she delighted in preparing meals and sharing them with others. In August 2024, she came to the United States to be with her family. She treasured every moment playing with her grandchildren, exploring the neighborhood in her wheelchair, and being surrounded by those she loved. Venkata Ratnam lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by unwavering love and dedication to family. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched. She loved how it spoke of strength through elegance, and pride through simplicity. Like the woman in the song, she carried herself with dignity, devotion, and a timeless charm. She is survived by her beloved husband Dr. Hanumantha Rao Sanka(82 Years); her sons Venugopal (Jyothi), Poornachandra Rao (Kalyani Mahalakshmi); her daughter Lakshmi Kalyani (Kamesh); and her cherished grandchildren Gautam (Divya), Dr. Pranavi (Dr. Aakash) and their daughter Anjali, Srikar (Priyanka), Sadhana, Rohitha, and Sathvik. She is also survived by her sister Sesharatnam, brothers Venkateswara Rao and Seshagiri, and many extended family members and dear friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Transitions LifeCare for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
