Miles Brent Webb, 69, of Apex, NC left this world peacefully on the morning of April 13, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family, the sounds of birdsong, and the soft morning breeze. His graceful exit was just like his time here on earth— calm, composed, and filled with love. Brent was, above all, a steady presence. He showed up—consistently, quietly, and without hesitation. As a father and a husband, he never missed a moment in his son Wesley’s, daughter Lauren’s, and wife Caryl’s life. His unwavering presence was rooted in the love his parents, Leonard and Jewell Webb, showed him growing up alongside siblings Cecelia, Tim, and Dean in Greenville, SC. He graduated from Eastside High School in 1974, where he played football and cultivated a love of music, art, and woodworking. He formed an aura of positive energy and creative thinking at a young age, and it only grew stronger as he got older— those who were lucky enough to have spent time with him always wanted more. His journey as a steady, loving, and committed father began at 24-years-old when his son Wesley was born. He passed down his musical and artistic talents to Wesley, who has spent his life devoted to musical exploration in many formats. He always encouraged, supported, and championed Wesley’s passion for music. Wesley gave Brent his first three grandchildren, Genesis, Gabriel, and Christian, who will always remember their time riding four-wheelers and exploring South Carolina and Colorado with their grandfather. After a move to North Carolina in 1985, Brent met his wife, Caryl, while working at Sharon Harris Nuclear Power Plant. One Friday night drink at Darryl’s in Raleigh turned into a weekly tradition that lasted 38 years— unwinding from the week with a cold drink, countless laughs, and good food. Caryl and Brent inspired one another to achieve their biggest career goals and dreams. They built a life together that allowed them to travel the world and create a strong foundation where they tackled life’s biggest obstacles, always as a team. Their love never wavered and was woven into every life decision together, the biggest being the birth of their daughter, Lauren, in 1991. Brent shared a singular, unique bond with his daughter Lauren— she was part of him and he a part of her. His presence was physical, emotional, and spiritual from the time she was born and will be felt for all eternity. He will always be present to her, whether in the wind in her hair as she drives like her dad, too fast but always aware; or in the lyrics of a song like Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” the one she sang to him as he passed over; and in the countless ways she will always show up for her husband, Jake and their two children, Maddox and Pax, who will never stop hearing about their Papa Brent and his love for all of the best things in life— good food, good music, a nice round of golf, and honest meaningful conversation with the ones you love the most. A self-taught entrepreneur and visionary, Brent opened and ran Cotton House Craft Brewers after spending 40 years in corporate America. Cotton House, a successful brewery and historic landmark tap house, became a part of the revival of downtown Cary. His work, alongside his right-hand Donny Martin, did not just build a business; it helped shape a place where people could gather, connect, and create lasting memories. Life here on earth will never be the same without Brent’s bright smile, heartfelt laugh, encouraging words, crazy ideas, and love that knew no bounds. However, it is certain that those who knew him, loved him, or even only heard about him, will carry his spirit through this life and the next. We are all better for knowing and loving him. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4:00-6 pm.
