Glenn Theophilus Jones

Glenn Theophilus Jones, 82, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at WakeMed Cary Hospital. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his loving family, who spent the days leading up to his passing sharing cherished memories, praying over him, and celebrating a life well lived. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Brenda Jones; his brother, Joe Jones (Algaree Jones); his sister-in-law, Jane Jones; his children, Angie Jones Wrisley (Scott Wrisley), Ronald Jones (Leigh Anne Jones), and Kevin Jones (Melissa Jones); his grandchildren, Christian Fowler (Brooke Fowler), Micah Fowler (Danielle Fowler), Nicholas Fowler (Quela Fowler), Thomas Wrisley, Edith Wrisley, Quinn Jones, Rhyan Jones, Tate Jones, Hunter Jones, and Ragan Jones; his six great-grandchildren, Hudson Fowler, Blakeleigh Fowler, Dean Fowler, Theo Fowler, Elliot Fowler, and Everleigh Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester T. Jones and Nell E. Jones, and by his brother, Jimmy Jones. Glenn was born and raised in the Fairview Community. In 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Brenda, with whom he shared a remarkable 64-year love story that he delighted in telling. Together, they relocated to Apex, North Carolina, where they raised their three children. He began his career serving in the United States Army and Army Reserve before becoming a trusted public servant in his own community. For the past 41 years, Glenn owned and operated Rogers Insurance Agency, where he became much more than an insurance agent. He built lasting relationships with the families who trusted him, offering comfort, reassurance, and steady guidance. His gentle wisdom and genuine care left a lasting impression on countless people. One of Glenn’s favorite weekly traditions was arriving early on Sunday mornings at Apex Baptist Church to prepare coffee for the congregation. Before anyone took a sip, he prayed over every pot, asking God to bless those who would gather that morning. His love for his local church was also reflected in his volunteer work as the director of the senior high youth department as well as the Sunday welcome committee. Glenn’s beautiful voice could often be heard in the church choir, the Voice of Praise, and during annual Christmas performances. Glenn found joy in life’s simple gifts: a proper Southern lunch shared with family, singing along to gospel music, and coaching many local Little League and other athletic teams. He loved his community and served it diligently through acts of service, mentorship, and his work with the Chamber of Commerce. Above all, however, he will be remembered for his unwavering faith and the way he reflected God’s love to everyone he met. He was never too busy to offer an encouraging word, lend a listening ear, or remind someone that they were seen, valued, and loved. The Jones family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and members of the community who offered prayers, visits, and words of encouragement during Glenn’s final days. Your kindness and love were a great comfort to him, Brenda, and his entire family. A visitation will be held at Apex Baptist (110 S Salem St, Apex, NC 27502) on Thursday, July 30th at 10:00am. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:30 am. All are welcome to the graveside service following the funeral at Swift Creek Baptist Church (9300 Penny Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606). In lieu of flowers, the Jones family invites those who wish to honor Glenn's memory to make a gift to the Carolina Care Center, continuing the ministry he faithfully supported.
