Cameron Reese Ward

Cameron Reese Ward, 32, of Cary, NC passed away on December 29th, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Reese was born on June 15th, 1990 to Benjamin Kyle Ward and Carol Ward in Raleigh, NC at Rex Hospital. Reese grew up in Cary alongside his younger sister, Ashley Logan Ward. He went to Weatherstone Elementary and West Cary Middle and then attended Cary Christian School from grades 9-12 where he graduated from high school in 2008. He went on to study at NC State University and then earned his Associate Degree in Construction Management at Wake Community College. He was a General Contractor and worked with Wardson Construction Inc. alongside his father and uncle and went on to have his own building company, Cameron Custom Homes, LLC. He was fun-loving, humorous, and confident and was not afraid to let us know he loved us. Reese was an example to everyone who knew him for kindness, gentleness, and compassion and he was fiercely loyal with his family and friends. He had a strong sense of right and wrong, and wasn’t afraid to make a stand for what he believed in. Reese always tried to see the best in everyone. In 2015, he met his wife, Michelle Christina Turner. It was later in 2016 that they began dating, and he asked her to be his wife on a trip in the summer of 2018 while on a picturesque hike in Charlottesville. On November 16th, 2019, they were married in Raleigh, NC at the Edenton Street Methodist Church. It was a beautiful celebration with their families and friends. Reese said that was the happiest day of his life. They were married for a little longer than one year when he was diagnosed with cancer. Reese was strong in his battle and always held onto hope, and faith in the Lord, even though he was in so much pain. Reese is no longer in pain, and this is something that gives his family and friends peace to know he is in heaven with God and our family members that preceded him into the Lord’s kingdom. Reese is survived by his loving wife Michelle Ward, parents Carol and Kyle Ward, loving sister Ashley Logan Ward, Grandfather Dale Ward and wife Ruth, Grandmother Polly Ward, Uncles and wives Stephen & Sue Ward, Kent & Jennifer Ward and Michael and Michelle Ward and cousins Moria, Evan, Emma, Holt, Carson, Carter, Rachel and Chase. Reese will be missed so much as he was a bright shining star to us and all who knew him. Our world will be a little less bright until we meet again. The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church Cary in the fellowship hall on January 4, 2023 from 12:30PM - 2:00PM. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on January 4, 2023 at First United Methodist Church Cary with Rev. Rick Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Rd, Cary, NC 27519.
